You have to check the 3rd photo where they explain (in English, no less) that the filters you’ll receive aren’t necessarily the blue ones you think you’re ordering, but another model (the white ones) which are just a piece of foam (with much less charcoal, by the way). According to customer service, whom I contacted today, they now only send the white ones and it was up to me to check the text on the 3rd photo... But the price is still the same as for the blue ones!!!

I ordered Cat Mate filters and, to my great surprise, I received generic Closer Pets filters without being informed. I find this practice dishonest, especially since my cat has stopped drinking since I replaced the filter. Probably a taste issue that only my cat could explain. I think I’ll have to throw them away. So I’ll probably order other filters. If it turns out I receive the same ones again without being told, I’ll permanently close my account.

I have bought this drinking fountain several times over more than 12 years, had to replace the pump, but even worse: because it’s made of plastic, it’s not easy to clean properly. It gets covered in a greasy residue, so bacteria build up. Even putting it in the dishwasher doesn’t get it clean. I’ve now bought a ceramic drinking fountain from another online shop, which was ten euros cheaper than the Catmate. It’s easy to clean and my cat is happy (and healthier) with it.

Pump broke after 2 weeks and there’s no replacement pump available. I had my previous Petmate drinking fountain for years without the pump ever failing. Really disappointing.
