AI-generated summary based on reviews added by customers

This cat litter has its fans, with some praising its clumping ability and odor control. However, many users found it tracks all over the house, sticking to paws and requiring constant cleaning. Some cats even refused to use it, and others noted a change in formula making it messy and hard to clean. Despite this, a few still appreciate its eco-friendly nature and long-lasting qualities.

Excellent all-round eco-friendly litter but lots of tracking

I purchased this product because I was looking for an eco-friendly litter and this one had excellent reviews. I have tried several other variations of non-clay litters including Sanicat Corn Clumping Cat litter and World's Best (neither of which were great). This one has EXCELLENT oder control, better than any other litter I have used. However, the one downside is that it does track everywhere (although tracking is better than Sanicat). Otherwise, this is an excellent eco-friendly option.

Amazing

Absolutely fantastic! Easy to clean and great quality.

Doesn't clump and tracks everywhere

This litter forms very loose clumps which crumble apart if you're not careful. It's also very dusty and tracks everywhere. My cat which loves to dig comes out of the litter box all dusty, which doesn't happen with the smart pellet litter I use in the other tray. At least it doesn't smell.

Makes it easy to clean the litter box

I located the cat litter in the bathroom, and this product is convenient because it allows me to throw the stool in the toilet (for the weekly change, I throw it in the garbage). It is very comfortable to remove the poop; because of the pee "wet balls" been formed often so I remove them daily. The huge benefit of this litter is that I can drain it in the toilet, so as to get rid of odors quickly. It's is also very light, also! I don't struggle as I did with normal sand.

Used to be brilliant, now useless

This cat litter WAS fantastic. The most recent bag was quite different - much larger pellets which I initially thought would be great as less likely to track out of the litter box. The problem is the product does not clump AT ALL any longer. It just dissolves into sawdust which then contaminates the rest of the litter. It also smells, which it never did before. Won't be buying again, particularly as I emailed the manufacturer to see if I had just got a faulty batch and they didn't even reply.

What does it weigh?

I've used this litter for some time now; I have 2 Maine Coons so long haired and altho it tracks a little mostly when they cover up and some goes outside the tray but it doesn't get caught in their coats I find there is very little wastage; when you lift out the clumps. My problem is - I order 20 litres and get 8.5 kilos I really don't understand this; I checked on line kilos to litres and it tells me 1 litre = 1 kilo

New Recipe is inferior to the original

this was a 5 star product until they changed to a new receipe. the new receipe tends to go way to dusty and appears smaller which makes cleaning much harder. their other product the pellet version we tried but is also a new receipe and is thinner and doesn't clump at all. I don't normally write reviews but I feel so disappointed.

Does not do a job anymore.

Ordered litter as usual, the last order I have noticed some changes to the product structure but it was nothing major. This time, unfortunately it does not clump !! It sticks together like hard paddle. Also pellets or how to name it with this products are bigger so maybe that is one of the reason? I'm not happy at all and still one big bag has left .

The best

Just the best. It smells fresh until the full change and even then its not a horrible smell. It does track, but all cat litters do.One 20l bag lasts my 2indoors about a month if not more. The urine doesn't seep to the bottom like other litters do. I can be safe thinking about my cats' nose/lungs. One of my cat is asthmatic and using this litter has been one of the things that has helped to improve her breathing. Yes, its the best.

No more sneezing!!!

My beautiful Maxy has serious allergy issues. I rescued her from Cyprus as a kitten. She was found in a box with 3 other of her siblings that sadly had passed away from a horrible feline disease but my Maxy was a survivor. She had such advanced disease that she lost her eyes. She now suffers from serious allergies and almost every kind of litter makes her congested but FINALLY I have found a litter that works for her. No more sneezy kitty!!!

Excellent Litter, Using less than my old brand of Litter 👍🏻

Can’t fault it, best Litter I have brought 🐱🐱👌🏻

Clumps well but tracks so use with other litter

Been using this litter for a while with our DSH cat and not much tracking until we bought our 6 month old Mainecoon kitten who's very furry tail and paws were tracking litter all over the house! I then bought a 10L pack of Breeder Celect paper litter to try (http://www.petsathome.com ). Sprinkled a thin layer of the recycled paper litter on top of the ‘Cats Best’ litter and both work well -very little if any tracking and great clumping. No odours, we clean daily and replenish fortnightly.

great cat litter

Looked for an alternative litter when my supermarket discontinued their own brand wood pellet litter. This is expensive but because liquids clump together and are easily removed it can be used for weeks & doesn't smell at all. I wouldn't risk flushing down the toilet but compost the used litter when changing. The only downside is it sometimes sticks to paws and gets scattered but this was mostly solved by using a hooded tray and I feel is a small inconvenience compared to the effectiveness.

Super dusty

I really enjoyed that this litter is biodegradable, smells quite nice and at first it is of a good consistency, but after as soon as a couple of days it splits into very tiny particles, dust is everywhere and I have to clean the floor several times in a day.

Messy

This litter is not totally terrible. It clumps nicely. I've seen worse. But it's so light that it gets stuck to cat's paws and furr and gets everywhere. Half of my house is covered in it every tim the cat uses it. Benek is so much better.

Clumps well but tracks

Have been using this for our DSH for over a year and not spotted any major issues until we got a long haired cat and this litter tracks everywhere, gets into his paws, his tail etc. On the plus side it does clump well if you leave it for a while and is easy to scoop out -not to heavy.

Fantastic litter

This litter is honestly amazing, both in terms of value and quality. I have seven litter trays, eight cats, five of which are permanently indoors with the rest being indoor/outdoor. I bought 60l of this, and it's lasted for 5 weeks in 6 trays without needing to be binned, and I'm only scooping daily. It comes in small clay like granules, so the transition was easy. It has quite a strong paper smell, which may put off a fussy cat. Clumps well and has good odour control. Won't go back to clay

Tracks but biodegradable and flushable!

This tracks everywhere, but we’re going to stick to this brand because it’s so important that we have litter that can easily be flushed especially since we live in a tiny apartment. The smell of poo is pretty strong in the first few minutes after the cat goes but after that, there is no smell. Clumps well.

Five star plus

Best cat litter I've ever used , we have four cats who have no problem using this and so easy to keep trays clean ......I can't find fault with this litter.....Fabulous

It's not the same product anymore.

We’ve been using this cat litter for years. Now it doesn’t clump like it should anymore and the litter smells worse.

The best

Our favourite: it lasts a long time, doesn’t leave dust everywhere (like the clay one), and clumps well... Negatives: they track quite a bit – it gets everywhere – and it’s a bit expensive.

Very dissatisfied, used to be better, doesn't clump properly.

The first ones we bought directly at Fressnapf were of higher quality.

Very good cat litter

Great cat litter, the cats are happy, it clumps nicely and smells like wood. The pieces used to be a bit bigger, so now they spread it around the flat more, but it's still good and much better than the original bentonite one.

Excellent!

I've been using this litter since 2011 and it allows me to avoid bad smells in the house because I can flush it down the toilet. It's odourless so it doesn't bother me, and it doesn't contain any toxic substances for my pets. Finally, it's clumping and absorbent.

Not recommended for cats with respiratory issues

It covers smells really well; Makes firm clumps, easy to remove from the litter; It's gentle on the paws, soft, my tomcat liked digging in it. The biggest downside, and the reason I'll stop using it, is that it leaves a lot of dust. My cat has respiratory issues, which came back shortly after I started using this litter. The dust bothered me too, so I had to wear a mask when cleaning/changing it; Another downside is that it spreads easily all over the house.

Clumping litter???

I bought this litter because it was supposed to be very low in dust. But that's really the only advantage! As for CLUMPING litter...???? Every clump falls apart as soon as you lift it out of the tray, or even just shake it a bit on the scoop to let the clean litter fall back into the tray. So better not to shake it and just throw everything in the bin. What a waste! Even my three cats prefer to use the other tray, which still has the "old" type in it. Never again!!!!!

Decline in quality

Less clumping and more dusty, it gets everywhere in the flat, but always has a pleasant smell. The quality has gone down over time (especially with the larger packs of litter).

Disappointed after over 15 years of use

I used to really like this litter and even recommended it to my friends and family, but lately it's just not possible anymore: it gives off a lot of dust that makes people cough, so it must be bad for cats too… and on top of that, my cats get it everywhere! I'm looking for an alternative… unless the many reviews similar to mine convince the manufacturer to go back to the previous version.

No longer forms clumps

I've been using this product for a while and, until now, I was satisfied with its quality, especially its clumping ability. Unfortunately, the last bag is of very poor quality and doesn't behave at all like the ones I used before. The litter no longer forms proper clumps: it crumbles immediately, spreads throughout the rest of the tray, and makes cleaning much more difficult. The difference compared to previous bags is huge, which is why I suspect there's an issue with this batch.

Deep disappointment.

Terrible decline in quality. The manufacturer seems to think that nanoclumps count as clumping now. Time to look for an alternative.

"New and improved"?

I don't know what batch this is, or if it's a "new improved" version, but it doesn't clump. And this used to be our go-to litter, the one we could always rely on.

The furry ones love this litter

All my cats love this litter, so much so that they go wild when it runs out and I have to buy a standard litter until the Cat's Best arrives. It doesn't create dust like regular litters, which is great for the pets' health. Even though it's easier for them to spread the litter around the house because it's lighter than others, it's also easier to clean up. I definitely recommend it, and so do the cats =P

I love it

The litter binds odours well and clumps nicely. The clumps are easy to remove. It has a pleasant woody smell. It often gets stuck in long fur and ends up being spread around the flat, but at least it doesn’t create as much dust as other litters. I’ve tried a lot, and for me, this is the best one.

Cat litter

We’re really unhappy with the last two 40L bags of cat litter. It just doesn’t clump properly. You never get a proper ‘ball’, just loads of little lumps everywhere. We thought the second bag might be better, but unfortunately not.
