SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder

I am so impressed! I acquired a Sureflap cat flap when I moved into my house two years ago and it has worked perfectly the whole time. Recently however I was woken at 1am to a cat fight and came downstairs to find a large ginger tom had gotten in and was stuck! Realised the cat flap had broken so following the online troubleshooter on the company website they diagnosed a problem they could resolve with a new part so at 3am on a Tuesday morning I got an automatic notification that they would send it out, which after another notification at 5pm the same afternoon, they did. It arrived the next day and was actually a complete replacement for the inside frame/door/latch. With their clear video tutorials it was easy to switch over and by 6pm on Wednesday it was as good as new and it didn't cost a penny! Efficient, effective and easy!

If you have a super greedy cat and a grazer cat like I do, this product is a must have in your household. I hesitated over the price for quite a while but there is nothing else like it out there. It is quite a big contraption but now I can feed my grazer cat and walk away knowing that the greedy cat will not be able to steal his food as soon as he can (it is very satisfying watching him try). The grazer cat will then be able to eat his food throughout the day as and when he pleases.

I first bought the SureFlap cat flap for my old flat, about 3 years ago. Previous to that I had spent a fortune on magnetic and then the petporte cat flaps. One of my cats, who likes to use his paws to open the door got himself stuck in both the magnetic and petporte ones, but never in the Sureflap. It's very well designed - the others led to break ins, but not the Sureflap. When I moved I bought another one for a double glazed door panel and it looks and works brilliantly. Highly recommend!

Bit wary when I bought this item - for 2 large cats - but certainly did exactly what it says on the box. One of my cats not at all keen because of the loud click the catch makes but when re-set delay to maximum he was OK with it and over time I was able to reduce the time delay on the locking mechanism to default. Certainly reduced the stress levels in the house! Just moved so need to get another one!

Don't waste your money on a "magnet controlled" flap from a different manufacturer (clunky, unpredictable, badly designed). The SureFlap flap WORKS. The clicks did not put off my cat - she found the newness of the flap a little stiff at first. But she got it within 2 days. The 10 second delay option has been brilliant, giving her a chance to keep trying until the flap opens.

The locking wheel prong broke which enabled any cat to come so the first night I had to sellotape the door shut. I emailed Sureflap that evening & got an automated reply. It didn't stop there cos I got another email the next morning asking me for serial no and address & they were going to send replacement free. Sure enough, the next day I received it in the post. Wow! Never had such good service, excellent. I've been very pleased with cat flap, does exactly what it says on the 'tin.'

We have had our sure flap for about two years. Before that we had a petporte but it just never seemed to work properly. The sure flap works unflinchingly and has done since installation. Our cats trust this one.. I thoroughly recommend sure flap. Also their customer support is nothing short of superb.

Ideal for giving each cat their own food. The kitten figured out how it works after just one day. The adult cat needed three days.

When you have cats with different diets, this bowl is brilliant and makes your life so much easier!

Costs a bit, but you get something good in return! My cats needed a little time to get used to the feeders, but now it's great—no more eating from each other's bowls, and they can just eat whenever they want without the other cat joining in.

Very good feeder, both of our cats immediately accepted their own one.

I've had the feeders for 2 years now and they work perfectly! I accidentally dropped one on the floor and it broke, but that was my fault. The batteries last a really long time, and the cats accepted the feeders straight away! Now my cat with the special diet can't steal the other cat's food anymore, and vice versa ;-) Best investment ever!

I've had them for 8 years now and they're really brilliant! The only thing is that cleaning can be a bit tricky because of all the nooks and crannies, but once you get used to it, it's grand.

After I adopted a fairly young wildling (~1.5 years old) from the area, word apparently got around in the cat community that there’s a 5-star walk-in buffet at my place, and managing that overnight was pretty time-consuming and cost me a lot of sleep. The Surefeed worked brilliantly – the troublemakers are left standing in front of a locked flap, and the little rascal is much more relaxed now that he knows there’ll still be food later on.

My senior likes to pace himself with his food. For the past few weeks, we've had a new rescue who inhales anything edible in seconds. No chance Grandpa can leave his bowl for later anymore. The automatic feeder was our hope… It took less than 10 minutes for the senior to figure out how it works. Lid up – favourite treat – done. The feeder is super quiet and registering only took a few seconds. I'm thrilled.

I was worried that after so many years with a "normal" bowl, my dog wouldn't get the hang of the system—she's 11 years old, but she figured out how to use it straight away. No more flies landing on her food, great invention, we're both delighted with it 😊🐕

I’m delighted, despite the investment. I was lucky enough to buy them while they were on sale. I have two cats, one of whom has serious digestive issues and, of course, the other cat’s food bowl always seemed tastier... It was a constant struggle to keep an eye on them, which was becoming impossible. So I bought two bowls and it’s brilliant. The bowls work with each cat’s own microchip and there’s no more hassle.

They now eat happily side by side from one bowl. One of them does have to wait a bit for the other, who belongs to the bowl, before they can join in eating.

Our two took to it really well.

It’s working really well for me. They’ve been in use for 2-3 years (bought gradually, since their diets have changed over time) and there hasn’t been a single issue. Just a battery change once a year, and that’s about it. I started off with just one, so the cat with a specific diet couldn’t get to the others’ food. The rest could access theirs. Later on, one needed a hypoallergenic diet, another a renal one, another an adult physiological diet, and another a senior physiological diet. I was able to easily reconfigure them so each one only detected a specific chip. Very happy with it.

For those like me who have more than one furry friend, this dispenser is brilliant. It’s the second one I’ve bought because I have 3 cats, all different ages and with different dietary needs. Highly recommended!

I bought the first two more than 10 years ago. They’re still working perfectly. There were a few years when I didn’t use them, until I discovered that you can also buy covers for them—unfortunately not on Zooplus—which prevent a clever cat from sneaking food from behind when the feeder is open. Every cat that has lived here has learned to eat from it. The timid cat got her food first in a bowl placed a metre in front of the feeder, and then gradually closer to the feeder itself. In short, a top-notch feeder.

That stress, or rather the human restlessness when managing things, is now mostly gone. I still have to keep an eye on it though, because – and this is a drawback – the other cats still manage to sneak a bite from the side or from behind if they really want to. Apparently, there used to be an “intruder” mode, which is a pity that it’s gone now. I’ll definitely have a look at the hood, so it’ll be even harder for them to sneak food in from the sides or the back.

Because of the different, necessary (special) foods and requirements, and sometimes even medications, I always have to be extremely careful that each cat eats from their own bowl. On top of that, they all eat at different speeds. Even with separating them into different rooms or keeping a close eye on them, there was always a bit of unrest, which made stress-free feeding quite difficult. Part 3 coming soon.

This feeder has solved the problem of having a slow-eating cat living with a greedy, food-stealing one. Money very well spent.
