Lillebro Meadow Hay

A bit of hay dust, not suitable for our guinea pigs.

Very poor product

I'm disappointed with my purchase. The hay really looks like cut grass (thin and short). It's full of grass dust. My guinea pigs won't eat it. I use it as a top layer over the wood litter. It's softer that way.

Difficult to get out of the packaging, and there are lots of sharp twigs in it. I even scratched my hand on it.

We bought this hay for quite a few months because it was cheap and our rabbits liked it, but then they stopped selling it for a while. When it came back, we bought it again, but the formula had changed. Now the quality is terrible, it doesn’t even smell like hay, and my rabbits hate it—they’d rather go hungry. On top of that, it’s full of little thistle-like balls that stick everywhere, even to my rabbits’ fur, and they’re really hard to remove. We even had to cut some out of their fur once.

For a long time, I’ve been buying Lillebro Meadow Hay in 4 kilo packs and have been really satisfied with both the texture and the scent, especially at such a good price. Last time, I thought I’d try a 10 kilo pack, which is even cheaper, but I’ll never do that again. I don’t know if I just got a “bad” pack, but it was full of small branches and twigs, and there was also a lot of soil in the pack.

I've never bought such bad hay before. Extremely poor quality. There’s more brown than green in it, it doesn’t smell like hay at all, and there are so many thin sticks that there’s a real risk of injury when taking it out.

I always buy the 10 kg pack but it’s packed too tightly and it’s really hard to get it out of the plastic without tearing it open with force! Very inconvenient!!! Maybe the 4 kg pack is better... I’ll give it a try...
