AI-generated summary based on reviews added by customers

This cat litter has its fans, with some praising its clumping ability and odor control. However, many users found it tracks all over the house, sticking to paws and requiring constant cleaning. Some cats even refused to use it, and others noted a change in formula making it messy and hard to clean. Despite this, a few still appreciate its eco-friendly nature and long-lasting qualities.

It's so messy

The cat litter itself works well. But I have never had such a messy cat litter in my life! This tracked all over the house, even to the third story bedroom. We didn't even finish the bag because it was so messy.

All over the house

Very positive: No smell! But it used to be better, maybe they have a new formula. It sticks to the cat’s paws and is all over the house. Wet sweeping the floor makes it worse. It gets slippery.

Tracks everywhere

I find that this does control odors, it clumps well and I love that it is made from renewable resources. The biggest problem is that this litter ends up all over the house and I don't think a different mat will make a difference.

No smell but doesn't agglomerate well

The smell is perfect as after a week (clean the litter every day), you don't smell anything. However it doesn't agglomerate well so litter is spreading everywhere

Too much batch variation

My cats like this because it's light and easy to dig in, and it doesn't hurt their paws, or get stuck really. I like it much better than sticky clay litter, but the 3 stars are because I agree with other reviewers who say it has disimproved - more dust, smaller particles and less coverage, therefore more odour throughout the house after use.

Used to be good

I have used this litter for years and loved it. Somehow since last year, it has not been the same. Bad tracking and dusty. Clumping not as good as it used to be either. Not quite sure what happened.

Messy

This litter is not totally terrible. It clumps nicely. I've seen worse. But it's so light that it gets stuck to cat's paws and furr and gets everywhere. Half of my house is covered in it every tim the cat uses it. Benek is so much better.

Clumps well but tracks

Have been using this for our DSH for over a year and not spotted any major issues until we got a long haired cat and this litter tracks everywhere, gets into his paws, his tail etc. On the plus side it does clump well if you leave it for a while and is easy to scoop out -not to heavy.

Tracks but biodegradable and flushable!

This tracks everywhere, but we’re going to stick to this brand because it’s so important that we have litter that can easily be flushed especially since we live in a tiny apartment. The smell of poo is pretty strong in the first few minutes after the cat goes but after that, there is no smell. Clumps well.

Tracks all over the apartment

I have been using this cat litter with my short haired ginger - Jesse - for over two years now. I love it, specially because it's biodegradable and I can simply flush it down the toilet. But OMG, it tracks everywhere! I have to hoover the apartment almost every day. We're giving it one last chance, because we really like it (keeps odour at bay and clumps well) but dust it produces and having these little bits scattered all over the place outweighs the pros. If you don't mind hoovering everyday..

FANTASTIC LONGEVITY BUT AWFUL TRACKING

A friend recommended this litter as I have 7 cats. I have been really impressed by how much longer this litter lasts when compared to all others I have used. However there is a huge downside - it gets tracked by the cats EVERYWHERE! I have capture mats by each litter tray but it doesn't stop them tracking the litter all over the house. Sadly I will be going back to my old style litter (crystals) which don't last half as long as Oko, but stays were it should be.

tracks

Odor control and clumping are ok, but it tracks all over the place. I'm tired of cleaning it up every day,so no more Oko

Traces a lot :(

I've used this litter for years since it's flushable, but it traces a lot :( And since it's very light my cats play with it non-stop building Egyptian pyramids in their litter boxes, mixing up clean litter with dirty parts. And the clumps don't stay well intact in many cases. Hope it's ok to write this here, but I just recently switched to Super Benek - and am fully in love with it. So sorry, Oko Plus, have to stop buying this litter.

All over the house!

I love the fact that this litter hides smells, clumps, is flushable ... but i HATE the fact that it tracks literally all over the house! Alsdo, since I have a Bengal cat, who loves to 'stir' her water in the bowl (Bengals like to drink running / moving water), I have to change the water extra frequently as the litter sticks to her paws and ends up contaminating her drinking water! However, I keep on using it, because it really is good in all ways other than the tracking.

Best/worst

Absolutely great on clumping and odour but OMG it's everywhere in the house. It tracks for miles and unfortunately this outweighs the benefits. Such a shame as other than that it's excellent

Pros and Cons

On the plus side, this litter is very light weight compared to most others. It absorbs fine and clumps well. On the minus side, I found that it got spread around the floor a LOT more than other litters partly because it is so light and partly because the grains are very large. My cats didn't really didn't like the large grains (sharp on their paws). Odour control could have been better. I used about two bags of this to one bag of my usual litter (CatSan). Not bad, not great.

very good but messy

i used to use worlds best with which i was quite happy and tried this as an alternative. it is incredible when it comes to odour - i live in an appartment and always had a problem with odours to some degree - but not with oko plus - it clumps ok, and i flush it down the toilet. the cats seem to like it as well and use the tray even if it hasn't been emptied. the biggest problem is how messy it is - my cats are ragdolls with very furry paws (which doesn't help) so every morning the floor allover the apartment is like someone got hold of the jar with the oatflakes and started spreading spoonfuls of it liberally all over! really oko people > you got a fab product there on some parts: the odour prevention is really really exceptional and i shall keep on using it for this reason but you really got to sort the texture of it somehow - worlds best was so much better on that front

not as good as I hoped

To repeat other reviews, it tracks easily out of the box. But my personal least favourite aspect of it was the smell - not of my cat's waste but of the product itself - kind of sour, burnt, weird coffee - yuk! I much prefer the freshness of wood pellets and as I compost all the litter (except faeces and faeces contaminated litter of course), I think wood chip/sawdust are much better as a biodegradable, nice smelling product that composts well

Great if you don't mind constant hoovering!

This cat litter lasts longer than any other litter, clumps well and disguises odour. Thats all great but have found the tracking to be pretty bad. Am rather house proud so like to keep a clean ship but found I was having to hoover the cat room and hall at leaf three times a day. It may not help if you have six cats like I have and long haired. For those with less cats I would recommend ir but the tracking was too much for me.

Not recommended for cats with respiratory issues

It covers smells really well; Makes firm clumps, easy to remove from the litter; It's gentle on the paws, soft, my tomcat liked digging in it. The biggest downside, and the reason I'll stop using it, is that it leaves a lot of dust. My cat has respiratory issues, which came back shortly after I started using this litter. The dust bothered me too, so I had to wear a mask when cleaning/changing it; Another downside is that it spreads easily all over the house.

Average

The litter is dusty but not excessively so, the cat didn’t like it and preferred to do her business next to it. It clumps, but don’t expect super solid balls. The odour control is also average. This is a mediocre litter, but basically, if your cat accepts it, it’s not bad for the price.

A lot of dust

I've been using this for 3 years now. It lasts quite a while, clumps really well, economical to use – I've always been satisfied. But now, after just 2 weeks, there's so much dust and debris at the bottom of the tray, it's not normal. I sifted the trays today.

It's okay

I won't buy it again because, personally, I don't like the smell. It's very woody, but not like tree-woody? Doesn't really clump well, but it doesn't create dust either, and it does a good job of binding urine smell! I'm sure it works great for others, but it's just not for us.

Normal litter

It clumps, but my cat constantly had sticky litter between her toes. I don't like it.

Cat litter

Overall, it's a decent cat litter, but I wanted one that doesn't create dust, and this one is advertised as being almost dust-free. I actually find it quite dusty and not so good for cats.

Didn't live up to expectations

I was hopeful, but my cats refuse to use it. The foster cats do use it, but only because we switched them over from bentonite pretty quickly—otherwise, they’d prefer that too. It’s less dusty than bentonite, but when I clean the litter, I end up having a coughing fit from the dust that rises. Plus, it makes a terrible mess—the cats track it everywhere. It does clump, but you have to wait for it to set and sift it very gently, or else it falls apart. Because of all this, we’re looking for a different litter.

It used to be better.

I've been using this litter for a few years now, and so far it's the best I've found, but its quality is going down. The first ones I bought lasted much longer than the more recent ones. In other words, before I could go much longer without having to change all the litter, but now it turns to dust much faster than before.

Handy but very dusty

Lightweight litter, very absorbent and does a great job masking smells, but it creates loads of dust...

My cats didn't like it

My cats didn't like the product at all. Maybe it's the smell?

Something's happened…

I used to be delighted with this litter because it clumped well and produced very little dust. But now the litter ends up all over the house and the pee doesn't clump into balls like it used to—it just falls apart and spreads throughout the litter, which means it starts to smell unbearable much sooner than before... Really disappointing...

Texture not suitable for my cat

After trying out several types of litter, I thought this one might be perfect. Clumping, odour control, biodegradable... everything seemed great, except my cat doesn’t seem to like it. The result: pee on the bed, on clothes, next to the litter box. At some point, these aren’t accidents anymore, but calculated surgical strikes! So now I have to get rid of the remaining 15 kg I bought with so much hope... What a shame!

Great at first, but not as good as Smart Pellets in direct comparison

We’ve been using this litter for a long time and were always happy with it, apart from the bits getting tracked everywhere. Then we tried the Smart Pellets version from Cat’s Best, and it’s much better in direct comparison. One of our cats has finally started digging again—in the past, she’d just jump straight out—and there’s not as much litter being carried out, or at least it’s much easier to sweep up five pellets than loads of tiny crumbs. The original is very fine and dusty, so we’ve switched over now, even though it’s more expensive.

Something went wrong

I've been buying this litter for a good 15 years, used it as bedding for rats back in the day, and for the past ten years for my cats’ litter boxes. Lately, I feel like it clumps and absorbs worse, turning into mush instead of clumps. On top of that, it smells bad and doesn’t hold odours as well as it used to.

Review of the litter

I use this litter every day; the absorption is decent and the bag is still easy to handle.
