Product description
Premium food supplement for birds, provides vitamins and helps to strengthen your bird, especially during illness or breeding; a great help for giving medication.
Egg food is a healthy and much-loved food supplement for ornamental birds. Grain feeds often contain few proteins and vitamins, making supplementation necessary. Especially during breeding and when bringing up young, egg food provides an essential source of protein. Birds weakened by illness can be helped to regain their strength with egg food supplement. A high vitamin content helps with moulting. Honey is added for increased acceptance, making even sick birds keen to peck away and take in any medicine mixed in with the food.

Please note: Egg food is not suitable for feeding during certain illnesses and can have a harmful effect in these cases. Avoid feeding egg food during illnesses that require a low-protein diet, such as kidney disease or gout. Please also note that regular feeding of egg food increases breeding instincts. Do not feed to females suffering from egg binding or females keen on breeding if no breeding is intended.

Feeding guide
Feeding recommendation:
1. Spread two tablespoons of dry egg seed over the daily feed.
2. Mix two tablespoons of egg seed with enough water or juice and serve the crumbly mixture in a separate bowl.
Dispose of unused food daily. Store in a cool and dry place.
During moulting and breeding, egg food may be fed daily. Add grated apple, carrots or fruit juice if desired.
Due to its higher vitamin D3 content compared to complete feeds, egg food must not make up more than 25% of the daily feeding ration.

Not same quality as last year
Last year my birds would gobble up the full amount I gave them daily. Opened this year's new 5kg bucket and next morning they'd not even eaten half. Upon inspection saw that if was full of the bright yellow inferior quality egg food you get in bargain sacks of seed. Won't be buying it next year without buying a small test sample.

Good product at good value
This eggfood is very good value for money and the birds seem to enjoy it. It has added honey and certainly smells delicious. It's a great way of getting protein and essential vitamins into breeding birds.
I also like the fact that this eggfood is mostly egg, there are just a few niger seeds in it. The niger seeds can even be picked out of small portions of the eggfood, which is what I do when my parrotlets are feeding very tiny chicks.
