It’s empty in here!
I love and so do my boys, wanted something large enough for my two British Shorthairs and this is perfect. Well worth every penny.
This was a HUGE cat barrel - my male ragdoll is a little lost in the various cubby holes and can happily stretch out in the top bed. He was almost immediately into it, exploring and scratching and woke us up at stupid o-clock this morning, playing happily away. A real hit
I have 14 week old kittens who love it however all 3 balls where off within a week
This is by far the best value cat home / scratching post / play centre ever. I'm 5'7" and the XL one comes up to my midriff (just under bust) it's wide and round and very very sturdily built. The scratching won't affect the look because this thing is built to last. Better than a Barratt home haha! I had this at a reduced price (XL for £54.99) make sure you get it for this price and I promise you, you will be delighted. About my cats? Ah well, they are now in my bed, and I'm curled up in this! J
This large barrel is just what I needed for the two cats I have! We have it at the back door and they love to climb it and sit in it.
This has only just arrived and my cat has yet to discover the scratching side of it (which is why I bought it). However he is sitting in the top enclosed bit so I feel it as a success. Perfect size for my big, long cat!
My cat is always so fussy about beds I buy her, but this has definitely been worth every penny she's in it most nights :-D
Bought this as a scratching post but my two never use if for scratching but love to sit on the top and look out of the window. They don't seem too keen on the lower levels. Bought 6 months ago and looks as good as new, but that's because they don't tend to scratch it I guess.Quite large so be sure you have the space for it!
I have 2 9kg Bengal boys and this is holding up great. Had a conventional cat tree that snapped to pieces. This is sturdy and doesn't move when they jump on and off etc. Also it's huge! I nearly died when it got delivered haha
excellent product! i had two of these a few years ago but the bed on top was not removable which made it impossible to wash, now you can remove the bed and wash it which is much better. i find it very secure but for those who said it wasn't attached very well, you can just get some stick on velcro strips and put it on around the edge. personally i found the amount supplied fine and my cats are very large. much improved with the bed removable.
Amazing cat scratcher , used by Bengal and Ragdoll cats and their kittens . High quality item , will last fo years :)
Our 2 bengals and Persian all love this .... in fact they love it so much I'm having to buy a second to prevent fights .... might even get a third ... Enough said ...
Brought this over a year ago, I have four cat's needed something that would last. Two small lady's & two big male's they all love playing & sleeping in it, scratching it's still going strong well worth the money.
I have two cats, one small thin normal sized, the other fat and barrel-chested. The little one jumps and loves to play, but the fat one has to slowly calculate every jump he makes, and if he thinks that something isn't study enough, he won't go for it. It takes him a long time to trust cat trees, especially if there is jumping involved. But this one is so sturdy that he just leaps up and boom, comfy place to sleep.
I bought this as I was getting a new sofa and my Bengal and Savannah have made a bit of a mess with the old one.. they went to this straight away and dont bother with the furniture any more. They also race for the top spot... I got the black one which fits in the living room well. Overall a good buy
I have four loooong loooong Oriental Shorthairs and they love this thing, both for scratching/stretching purposes and for sleeping in and on. One word of warning, as with ALL cat trees, remove any toys on elastic that it comes with. They can ping back on themselves and trap or choke a cat. Having said that, I'm on my second one of these now (they finally destroyed the sisal on the first, after about a year). It lasts a great deal longer than a regular scratching post (my lot destroy those inside a month), and it's nice and robust - doesn't fall over even when they fling themselves at it. I wouldn't be without one now.
'Large' is implied when one is talking about a Maine Coon, but I happen to have two extra-large Coon specimens. Naturally, I have some difficulty finding cat trees and whatnot that are big and sturdy enough for my boys. This cat-tree-barrel is PERFECT for my Pyggie and Theo. I worried that the cushion on the top would be too small, but I want all other big cat owners to know that our two 20 pound cats use and love this product easily!
Our two 8 month old cats love their scratching barrel. More for sleeping in/on than scratching but they now spend most evenings up their watching what we're up to. V. stable and less obtrusive than some cat trees. Only down is that the dangling fluffy balls in the windows haven't lasted long. One was pulled off completely the other had the furry cover pulled off exposing a bell hanging on elastic so cut it off as could have been swallowing. Third (bottom window) is still attached for now!
A good quality item and very steardy. Larger than I expected; bed at the top fits my large cat perfectly. Soft plush material inside cubby holes. Strong weave externally. Good value for money.
I ordered this for my 2 maincoons they loved it from the moment we opened it, they love to sleeping on it trouble is only one can get on it at a time so the have to take it in turns. Great price and great product.
This is great, especially for multi cat households as there are 4 levels including the bed at the top. I only received this today & all are scratching it, jumping up it, playing with the toys. Don't think twice about treating your cats to this, they will love you!
Excellent product, the only let down for me is that I can only get the Snugglesafe heatpad on the top bed and not also in the three inner sections but other than that this is an excellent product at a very good price.
As soon as this was out the box, boz was in it and wouldn't leave it alone. He loves the 'tunnel' and is always playing with the toys. He has hip dysplacia and finds climbing difficult, so I expected him to just stick with the bottom hole... WRONG, his favourite spot is on the top, leaning down playing with the chicken and annoying Henry. It took a few treats and a bit of catnip to persuade Henry, but he now also won't leave it alone. His favourite pew is in the hole closest to the top, where he can keep a relatively close eye on the more playful boz :) Best purchase I've made in ages and I think it'll last a lot longer than the other posts I've bought. Very sturdy, attractive design, encourages play, big enough holes for large cats and the best bit of all... It's great entertainment for whoever's watching the cats play!
We moved house and her old cat tree had to go in a different corner of the room - our puss took umbridge to this and would not use her old tree After a lot of of research and measuring i bought this one - note it does not come packaged in sections - it comes as-is fully built. It is super sturdy and won't fall over even though its freestanding. holes are good but our cat isn't bothered over them- i hide treats in there instead. Plenty of scratching area to go at and good for them to to stretch
if you can't afford the natural paradise one this is also a great product. would be great for kittens because of the hole between two of the beds so they can bat each other and move through one bed to the other. top bed is comfy and like my NP one they like sleeping on the top
Brilliant product - so many places for the furballs to lounge in and snooze - they love it! It's good and sturdy to withstand some abuse when they have a good scratch on the outside too. A good investment which will stand the test of time.
This scratching barrel is just great. My cats took to it very quickly and the 4 of them almost fight over who gets to go first. The top spot is almost always taken by one of them...The barrel is very stable and doesn't wobble around when the cats climb on top of it. I could tell it was worth buying within 5 minutes!
Really stable and suited to even the smallest of cats. Our 7 week old managed to scale it without problems. The 3 toys are perfect to animate your cat and tempt it to climb and claw and clamour. The fur bit is nice and soft.
I bought this barrel on the 15th of July and I'm very happy with it. Cats large and small have quickly taken to it, climbing, clawing, playing, and snoozing away. Very sturdy too. *****Stars from me :-)
Really fast delivery. Both of my cats love the scratching barrel, can't beat that.
My 2 x 14 week old Maine Coons loved it on sight. If they aren't shinning up it, chasing each other in and out of the caves, or bashing the dangly toys, they are snoozing on the top. It's very heavy duty indeed and I can see it lasting for ages. Not cheap, and I thought hard about purchase, but the multi usage and the fact it is so hardwaring make it an excellent purchase in my opinion.
Having torn and scratched his previous cat tree to a state of total devastation, Elliott Michael took to this scratching barrel immediately. Strong, secure, and made of substantial materials, he wasn't going to ruin this so easily. This is about the best solution to his needs I could ever imagine. He was through it, on top of it, and fast asleep on it all within the first 30 minutes of its arrival. It looks great, it's safe, and I'd certainly recommend!
I bought one of these about 10 years ago and it is still going strong. Had to put a platform on the top though as my tomcat is too big to fit in the top. They all love sitting on the top looking out of the window. Best buy for cats.
I love, love, LOVE this scratching post. I've spent a lot of time (and money) trying to find a post big enough, tall enough and stable enough to accommodate my two big cats (6 year old Hobbes who's 5.5kg and 10 month old Bear who's 4.5kg) Until the barrel came into our house, Hobbes had reverted back to scratching the carpet as he had outgrown my Ancol "Fat Boy" post (still very much in use by Bear and also a great product). Now he can literally hang from the barrel, with all four paws clinging on, without it tipping over. He loves sleeping on the top bed. The barrel is very well made, with comfortable platforms to lie on and a cosy but spacious "cave" to hide in. The toys in all 3 openings are enticing and, as of yet, have withstood the vigorous attention from Bear. The scratching surface, which goes all the way up and around the barrel, is durable and good quality. It's easy to rub cat nip into it to encourage interest when it first arrives. I can't say anything negative about the barrel, I wish I had more space as I'd love to get another, especially as it's great value for money!
Very pleased with our scratching barrel - and yes, it is huge! My 4 ex-large Maine Coons all pile on and into it - it's one of their favourite places to be. Only criticism is that the plush bedding/lining is not removable for washing. Nevertheless, will definitely consider buying another when the time comes.
I have 4 large cats and they all love this barrel very good play value for them too
My two cats absolutely love these! They loved them so much that I bought two- one for each cat. They love sleeping in the top and playing with the toys hung from the 'portholes'. I heartily recommend these. :)
I currently have two cats, a moggy and a Maine Coon kitten with another MC on the way. What can I say?? This is the best purchase I have made for them. In the past none of my cats have ever bothered with cat trees but they LOVE this barrel. Together with the Natural VI tree the cats are never off these. They fight for top spot. Sooo glad with my buys :)
If you're hovering about getting this then let me say that you need to stop hovering and get it. It's one of the best cat trees/scratchers you could invest in regardless of how massive or tiny your bundle of fur is. That aside it lasts well despite suffering the exuberant attentions of my two Norwegian Forest Cats over the past two years. For some reason (apart from the toys) it looks as good as new despite use all day round. I've gotten a second one for upstairs as well. Best sites to place it are near windows or key kitty observation points.
My 2 ragdoll kittens love to play hide n seek in the barrel and snooze on the top deck. Really pleased with this, it's good quality and they use it for scratching and climbing, as well as playing and for somewhere to sleep. Would recommend, good for larger vat breeds too.
