This cat food is a hit with both wild hedgehogs and cats, especially for its high meat content. It's a cost-effective choice compared to pricier brands, keeping cats happy and hedgehogs munching. However, some cats with sensitive stomachs may experience issues like diarrhoea, which can be disappointing. Overall, it's a good option for those seeking a low-carb, nutrient-rich dry food that pleases pets and saves money.

Cats really enjoy it
I am very glad I have discovered this food. I had tried Arden Grange grain free but my cats started to get fat (we have 6 cats and free feed), we then went on to James Wellbeloved no cereal which is great (but extremely expensive @ almost £6 a kilo as they only do 1.5kg bags) and still a definate favourite with one cat in particular- but she will eat this also. I had also tried nutrivet but some liked it and some didn't. This porta 21 sensible is working out much more economical for me especially as I am also feeding 2 cats that a neighbour abandoned. I am so glad that Zooplus stock such a wide range of foods at reasonable prices and do great special offers also.

Good for Healthy ferrets too
I like the zero grains and high protein content that cats and ferrets would obtain from their prey. I mix this with another high quality ferret food normally as I find they do gain a bit more weight on this alone.. overall...Excellent!!!

Great improvement happy cats
I just changed my 4 cats (ages range 20 years to 3years) to this & can see the difference in less than 2 weeks, their fur is better condition, they eat it all & don't keep begging for more (til their next feeding time). I find it frustrating that Zooplus don't include ingredients on the website, but found them on cat forum before purchased & I didn't get the free Cosma snacks with my bag :(
This has 32% protein, 21%fat. Hope this helps

Happy cats
I have a multicat household which is hard going finding a product all cats enjoy. I couldn't decide between this one and sanabelle sensitive as both have good reviews so I ordered a bag of both. All cats enjoy both products even my most fussiest cat so I am very happy. I am glad to find two products all of them enjoy and a reasonable price tag for good quality food

Brilliant product!
This is probably the best thing I have ever bought for my cats. They love the food and after only a week their coats started to look shinier, their skin seemed to be more elastic and they more or less stopped shedding. We mixed the new food with their old food so they'd get used to it slowly. Their poo did smells quite bad at first, but it went after a little less than two weeks so just hold on. It'll get better! We're a definitely sticking to this product!

Excellent
I have 4 cats, my Pixie Bob had a stomach/digestive disorder and after months of liquid poos, accidents, weight loss and tests at the vets, I decided, as a last resort, to try a different diet to the one the vet had recommended.
I put her on Porta 21 chicken meat for sensitive tums along with a natural digester. She ate it but kept losing weight, though motions were becoming normal. I then introduced Porta 21 biscuits. Over a year later, she's still going strong, in fact she has put weight on and has no problems whatsoever - and a diet will be starting soon!
My other 3 cats, one of 18 years old, one who is 12 and the other who is 8, all eat it fine. The 12 year old is a really fussy eater, I was amazed when he decided he liked it too. For the first time, this slight built cat has started to put a bit of weight on.
I'd definitely recommend it, yes it smells strong, but does it matter as long the cats like it?!

Superb
Purchased this as an alternative to Applaws and was not disappointed. Both my cats eat this without any issue and the price is excellent. The smell of the bag is almost unbearable but the actual food doesn't smell much. Recommended overall.

80% Meat
This is a much cheaper option to Applaws Dry which has increased in price the last year or so to £13 for the same 2kg of food, so it costs too much for me, it has same 80% meat content & its also free from grain / additives, however this i think is not complete food unlike Applaws, i dont recall reading the word 'complete' in the description on the bag, however 'completely' is used which may only refer to the grain, confirmation of this from the manufacturer would be useful

Cats love it
My 8 cats of all different ages love this, they don't eat as much either so good value, I had one cat that had constant diarrhoea which has gone since feeding him this diet, another cat that had bald patches all over his body, after doing research on a grain free diet I am pleased to say this too has cleared, they all seem to have so much energy, and more importantly they have lost their belly fat, so they don't look pregnant now, thanks Zooplus for keeping it in stock.....ll

This food suits all our kitty's and the price is comparable with lower end dry food.
If you want good prices without compromising on quality this is a diet well worth trying.

Fabulous food at a good price
I'm a vet so I'm very fussy about what I feed to my cat. He loves this food and I'm happy with the analytical breakdown and content of this food. Its got quite a strong smell though!

Some weeks to get used to better eating habits, but it's worth it!
I decided to shift to a grain-free diet for my two house cats after a chat with their vet and some informative readings: it took two-three weeks to them to get used to Porta 21 grain-free, but it was worth every bit of this time. Their fur is fluffy and shiny, I've never seen it this shiny, eyes are bright and crystal-like, teeth (and claws) are perfect and they look full of energy: it's five months since I introduced this food. As a matter of fact, the cats appear to eat less because this food is so much richer than every other food I tried, and they look as if they changed for better eating habits; now, when they come across a crumb or a cookie, they just sniff and walk off. See? I will definitely buy again, I am convinced that this is their food for a better future.

Worth a try but my cats prefer Porta 21 Adult!
I bought this product because it seemed to be the second best choice after Orijen which I cannot afford. Only very few brands offer a completely grain free diet, high in protein and this is one of them. Unfortunately, all three of my cats do not appear to really like this food. They are still eating it, but they all definitely preferred the Porta 21 Adult in the yellow bag. I believe that this one is better for their health with the high quality protein content, but I'm not sure they agree! I will continue to purchase Porta 21, but will go with their unanimous preference for Porta 21 Adult. Overall, I would recommend Porta 21 as the best dry product I have bought and I have been buying cat food for 11 years now!

Good Value
6 Cats, all eat it happily, cleared up one cats diarrhea caused by grain in previous food. All have healthy soft fur. Excellent value.

Good value for money
I've been feeding Orijen dry cat food for years, liking the high protein content from meat sources and lack of (grain) fillers. But the prices have gone up ridiculously. So I tried the Porta 21 sensible instead, and while it isn't quite as high spec as the Orijen, it is so much better value for money. The cats like it, despite (or maybe because of?) the strong smell. So far, so good!

Cats hated it but got used to it.
No one was sick on this food and it helped the older boys lose their winter weight and my girl lose all her fat - she was a fair bit overweight(from grains)
They went on strike for about 2 weeks not eating it so i did feed them some wet food but they did get used to it. It was really good value and really good food

Not bad at all
My cat is about half way through the 2KG bag of Porta 21. I have to say I didn't like the smell of the product (think burnt chicken skin) but then I am not a cat- and mine eats it with no problem. So as she likes it I will buy it again- good value too.
