I’d heard good things about the Cat Dancer. My cat is interested but still a bit scared of it. When she tried to catch it, the wire ended up awkwardly around her neck—good thing I reacted quickly. That thing is going straight in the bin now. Such a pity.

I ordered the Cat Dancer because I already have one. Unfortunately, this one – as many others have mentioned – isn’t made with a sturdy wire, but with a metal string. That makes no sense. The whole idea is that the wire makes the little cardboard bits bounce up and down like an insect. That just doesn’t work with a string. I really wonder how anyone can make such a pointless product.

My oldest cat is crazy about the Cat Dancer; she doesn't care for regular fishing rod toys. Since the old ones were worn out, I ordered two of these, but what a disappointment... it's just a flimsy string, no wire. Maybe I didn't look closely enough, because I now see that the original can still be ordered. I'll do that quickly then. The extra cost is definitely worth it.

I was so looking forward to replacing the old one with a new one, and I thought it was really handy that this had a handle at one end. But when I unpacked it, it turned out to be a floppy metal “string” with paper at the end, and it’s definitely nothing like the Cat Dancer we all know and love. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Don’t make the same mistake I did and fall for the name!

I bought a similar product 1.5 years ago and wanted to buy this as a gift for someone else’s cat because I think it’s a great toy, but this has nothing to do with the original. This metal cord hangs limp, the previous one had a thin, stiff metal rod, which gives a completely different effect. I still have this thing in the packaging, I’ll probably throw it away with the “scrap metal”. Waste of money.
