The metal smells unpleasant and leaves a film on your fingers, which makes me uncomfortable letting my cat bite on it. An amateur test for metals came back positive – I can't say anything about the reliability of the test, but combined with the other unpleasant impressions, I'd rather steer clear. In the end, it's just a piece of wire with bits of paper, and it's pretty expensive for that. Disappointing.

I've bought this product a couple of times over the years, and the metal wire itself has definitely gone down in quality—it almost looks rusty and seems to be made of black metal now. When you use it, it moves slowly and strangely, whereas before it was much livelier and bounced around more. The product is made in America, so it's no surprise that the quality has dropped.
