Finding a kidney food for my diabetic tomcat was quite an odyssey. With an NfE value of 20, it's not ideal, but he likes eating it and with this food we've managed to stabilise him on a low insulin dose. Unfortunately, there are occasionally batches that don't smell very pleasant, and I've also had the odd damaged portion pack. But all in all, I'm very satisfied.
It's really not that easy to find a renal food that gets accepted. This one, along with two or three other types, works best for us and is usually eaten. The dry food from this brand is also well received. It's basically a jackpot—fingers crossed it doesn't change again, because with cats you never know: one day they like it, the next day they don't. We rotate between the two or three renal varieties that have been accepted so far, just so they don't get fed up with one of them again. Fingers crossed!
My cat liked it at first and ate it happily. But after about two weeks, the excitement wore off. Now she won’t touch it anymore. I think it’s more to do with my cat than the food ;)
