Yippee.... my cat loves it!!

After spending a fortune getting royal canin food for my cat with kidney problems she just didn't like it, the same with Hills. I was giving up hope when I found this...SHE LOVES IT!. Many thanks zooplus for finding these makes, keep the good work going.

Very Please to have found this product.

When my 19 year old cat was diagnosed with kidney disease, I was told to put him on a special diet. The food recommended was extremely expensive, and as he doesn't stop eating, I was extremely worried about the expense. I am so happy to have found this product straight away as he wolfs down the food and demands more! Both of us are extremely happy with the product and will continue to buy it as my cat is thriving much better on it, despite his condition.

Cat likes it but not for every day...

My 14yo CKD cat will eat her Royal Canine Renal pouches as well, but she always leaves some, especially if it is the same flavour every day, and there is only one flavour in a pack! I got these Beaphar meals to see if she enjoys them more and she does, she finishes all of her food. Not surprised cos they are actually quite tasty (I had a try too!) and with a much nicer texture and more meaty smell. However, these meals are higher in phosphorus than RC, and since she also eats her RC, I plan to use these intermittently for variety and not as her main food, at least for as long as she does not come off the RC completely.

Great food!

My cat was put onto the prescription food a few months ago and has lost weight steadily, as he only licked the gravy off it. He was getting weak and thin so I started desperately to look for other foods. Gave him Beaphar and it was amazing - he threw himself at it and licked the bowl clean! He's now put back all the weight he lost, is sleek and shiny again and full of beans. I think vets should told about this alternative - there must be a lot of cats who are dying from lack of food rather than the kidney disease!

Disgusting, cat doesn't like it, intolerable due to grains

My cat ate it without any problems on the first day. If I had known it contained grains before buying it, I would never have bought it. On the second day, she absolutely refused to eat this food, especially the "Lamb" variety. The mixed pack generally smells bad, and in the lamb one I found an extremely hard, unidentifiable lump that didn’t look like meat. Very poor quality, terrible that it contains grains, and it stinks!!

My Kitten's Review

The one who actually reviewed the product wasn’t me, but my cat. She didn’t even taste it, just sniffed it. The product looks good, smells good, but my cat, who suffers from kidney failure, didn’t like it at all.

Absolute favourite food

Finally! After a long period of trial and error with Royal Canin Renal and many other brands (lots of donations to the animal shelter...), we've managed to find a food for our cat that she actually eats—with an enormous appetite, and she likes all the available varieties. Hopefully it stays that way.

Kidney food

Our 20-year-old tomcat is very picky. But he loves this food, whereas he only ate other brands moderately.

Pet food

So far, my cat likes them all, but you need to give them in smaller portions.
