Product description

A grain-free, complete food, specially balanced to support growing kittens up to 12 months. With essential vitamins, calcium and taurine, for a perfect start to your cat’s life!

Smilla Kitten complete wet cat food at a glance:
  • Grain-free – gluten free: The grain-free recipe doesn’t strain your kitten’s digestive system, which is not equipped to process large amounts of grain.
  • With vitamins and minerals: Vitamins and minerals play an important role in cat nutrition. Vitamin D supports the regulation of calcium intake, which is vital in healthy bone growth. Vitamins A and E help to support healthy vision, skin and hair.
  • With taurine: Taurine is an essential nutrient for cats, which helps to maintain healthy vision and heart function. It is not generated in sufficient quantities by the cat’s body, making it especially important to supplement your cat’s diet with this important nutrient.
  • Optimal Calcium-Phosphorous balance: Calcium and phosphorous play an important role in the healthy development of your cat’s bones. In Smilla Kitten, the balance of both minerals is between 1.13:1 and 1.18:1, helping to support your kitten’s growth.
  • High protein content: Smilla Kitten has a higher protein content than Smilla Adult, as younger cats need more energy and protein to match their high activity levels.
  • Gently prepared: The carefully selected ingredients are combined cold, and gently cooked in the can, preserving the food’s delicious flavor and essential vitamins.
  • No added sugar or flavourings: Smilla Kitten is free from added sugar and flavourings, making it a balanced, natural food for your growing cat.
Smilla Kitten is a delicious complete food, perfectly adapted to the needs of kittens and young cats up to 12 months old. Natural, carefully selected ingredients such as high quality chicken or veal are gently cooked in the can, locking in the vital nutrients and exquisite natural meaty flavours. The addition of important vitamins, minerals and taurine provides your cat with the best start in life. Smilla Kitten also contains a high proportion of premium quality animal protein, meeting the high energy requirements of young cats who love to play and explore.

Smilla Kitten wet food is grain-free, so it doesn’t cause strain on your kitten’s digestive system, which is not designed to process large amounts of grain. Smilla Kitten is also soya-free, and contains no added sugar. Veal option
I usually purchase the chicken or variety pack but all i could get was veal and we were running low. They both had veal before but unfortunately gave my female kitten diarrhea, too rich for her. Gave the remaining cans to a friend with a new kitten.

Good quality and value for money!
My sphynx kitten really likes it - I also buy Animonda Carny kitten food that's in the same format. My kitten won't eat food in pouches (just licks off the gravy or jelly) and I find tinned is better quality! I have tried both chicken and veal, and the chicken is definitely the favourite.

Good ingredients / high meat content
This is a great food for a kitten with a high meat content and good ingredients in comparison with other cheaper brands. It gave my kitten dihorrea sadly so I gave it away as told by the Zooplus customer service team who were very efficient and fast in solving my query - Thank you! I will continue to shop from Zooplus as they do have a wide range of other brilliant quality pet foods at great prices :-)

Very happy active kittens
We have 2 rescue kittens (brother & sister) - 1 was very small, quiet & inactive when they first arrived - we were advised to continue feeding they same supermarket food they had been used to but we were getting concerned - changed gradually to Smilla & Animonda over a week & since then we've seen a huge difference - poo's are MUCH better & she is a much happier, heavier & more active little girl :) They both LOVE this food & not a scrap is wasted - can't recommend highly enough

Better than expected
Heard a few good things about this, got the starter kit for my kittens and omg they loved it! They didn't even touch applaws so this has made me happy. The biscuits went really really well

Good for Persians
I struggled to get a wet food for my 4 month old persian kittens that didn't soak and stain their fur with gravy/jelly when eating, Smilla and animonda carny have been the best but the kittens prefer Smilla. Looks like real meat and even though its pate has some meaty chunks mixed in for the kittens to chew on. Very economic, 1 can between 2 kittens (plus a few treats) a day and they seem genuinely satisfied.

Very good
My kitten loves it. I only wish it would be made in 100g or even 50g tins as my kitten can't eat it all during the day and it can't be stored once opened longer then 24 hours.

Easy to wean on to
I foster kittens and usually have to wean them onto solids a lot earlier than they would naturally. Having read the reviews I thought I'd try my last 3 on this. It was brilliant, they loved it - it's a pate/small mince so I didn't have to mash it much and has a good meaty small which they found enticing. Big bonus was no upset tummies when I used Smilla, all the others that have had other brands with lots of gravy and jelly I've had to deal with runny poo :(

Great Value
This is a great wee starter pack. The bed is good quality and washes well. It fits perfectly inside the domed wicker carry basket Zooplus sell, we have two and use them as sleeping nests. The cans of meat have been eaten by both our kitten and old man cat (15 years),when they leave a bit the dog hoovers it up. The biscuit kibble is very small and again seems to appeal to both cats, they self administer from a topped bowl. Both cats are lean with shiny coats. Just ordered 3rd pack.

Great food
My 2 Siamese kittens, now aged 4 months and 3 months love this food. Although I am a veggie, I started them on the rather grim ( for me )raw food diet. They loved it but Valentine ( older kit) had regular reflux, while Lenoard had no probs and crunched his way merrily through minced bone and sinew.Exploring other options I was dismayed at the cost of the more decent pouches and tinned food. Smilla is a really good option both in content and price. Now they are off the raw diet I can give the both wet and dry food, and have just taken delivery of the Smilla saver pack to try this brand of kibble; I have sufficient confidence in the quality to move them from the top of the market popular dried food they have had so far. They are complete gannets and will eat anything, and loved both veal and chicken trial packs. but have for now ordered follow up quantity of the chicken wet food...veal just seems that step too far for my veggie conscience.

I've been feeding all my kitties Smilla for a while now so thought I would carry that on with my new kitten, she absolutely loves it and has had no problems at all. :)

My Kitties Love It!
My kitties really like this wet food. Normally they will not eat the same wet food 2 times in a row. But this food they are happy enough eating it 2+ times in a row. I got the chicken and they really like it. I have since placed a order for the larger packs but it's the mixed packs so they get a little something different. I feel I must state I do feed my cats a mix of wet and dry feed every day and this seems to be their favorite wet food. I will keep buying this wet food until either it is no longer made or my cats tire of it. Hoping it's the first one tho!

Fussy Kittens Love it
We adopted two 11 week old brother kittens from a animal shelter. They didn't provide us with any food for them to eat. We tried the kittens on Whiskers Kitten and Pet's at Home own brand kitten food however they just licked the jelly off the meat and then turned their noses up at the rest of it. After reading some reviews we decided to try Smilla. They absolutely love it. The meat is soft and is ground really small so it is not difficult for little kittens to eat. They seem to prefer the chicken to the veal. They have flourished after only a few day eating it, their coats are shiny and they are really active. Their toilet visits are also a lot better and they don't smell half as much as they used to. I would recommend this to anyone who has a kitten under 4 months old.

Persevere! He loves it now.
My kitten was eating 3 x felix kitten pouches a day which was expensive and he had the most horrible smelling trumps and poos. When I switched to smilla we had two horrible days of him walking around meowing (he was still eating his dry food) as he wanted his pouches. He now loves his smilla and you can see it is real meat from the bits you can see in it. He has a whole can a day and it is much better quality and value.

smilla kitten
The smilla kitten is amazing. Not only is it grain free but my two 5 month old kittens love it - tend to favour the chicken one over the veal though. 1 small tin does the two of them with biscuits per day and they are never starving. Bonus is poops smell a lot less too!

Couldn't be better.
I'm a relatively new cat owner and have been following the crowd and adverts mistakingly believing that some pet foods were good for my kitties. It wasn't until I read the ingredients and discovered I was feeding my babies complete rubbish that I started looking for an alternative that was nutritious, tasty and had a decent meat content whilst being affordable. What I was surprised at was that even some of the 'recommended by vets' food was still low in meat content and full of grain and additives. I have already been using Zooplus for a long time buying decent litter so I decided to look at their food range and came across Smilla. The difference has been immediate. Their coats are shiny, they go for it as if they are piranhas and they adore this food. What Ive found is that they need less as its more nutritious. Their poo's are more compact and they no longer smell bad. I'm using both Smilla adult and Kitten as I have both and I would recommend it to everyone who has cats. It smells good enough for humans to eat and doesn't make me feel ill first thing in the morning when I have 4 cats crawling all over me wanting to be fed. If you are unsure, just give it a try-I promise you, your kitties and your purse-wont be disappointed!!
