Pitti Boris Vegetarian Complete Meal - dog dry food

Once I fostered a shar pei who was entirely going bold due to mysterious allergies and he was cured within 3 months on pitti boris and his hair grew all back smooth and shiny

I've been buying only vegetarian dry food for 6 years and never had any problems... my dog has always been fine and tolerated everything so far. But she really can't handle this food! She often throws up. I've been trying for 2 months, always hoping it was something else... And as everyone knows, a Lab will eat and tolerate pretty much anything. I have no idea what's causing this. The food is always soaked well too. Such a shame!

My female dog, who usually eats vegan dry food, couldn't tolerate this food even when mixed with her usual food and ended up vomiting during the day. It took me a while to realise that the food was the cause. As soon as I stopped giving it to her, everything was fine again. So I can't recommend it.

I've never bought this dog food in my life and I never would. For those who have to use it because of a medical condition, that's fine. But all of you who are vegans and give this to your dogs just because you want to? Don't you know that dogs are carnivores and you're ruining your pets' health? It's all well and good for you to choose to be vegan, but your dogs can't, so they need animal protein, not loads of legumes and flours.

We also fed Pitti as the only food for a while. The dogs love the taste and are really happy to have it as a treat. But I wouldn’t give it as the main food in the long run. 1. The amount you have to feed is quite high. For a 20 kg dog, you need over 100 grams more per day compared to other brands. 2. The ingredients seem to be whatever was cheapest and left over in the silo. Corn gluten as the main ingredient! As a treat or in a food toy, it’s brilliant—small, firm balls.

I really wanted these kibbles to be the right ones. Unfortunately, after a week on these kibbles, my dog started vomiting. I had to stop giving them to him.

After many tests and visits to the vet, I found out that some dogs (including mine) are allergic to animal protein – he would sometimes eat up to 500g of food a day and still lose weight until he was just skin and bones, his skin was itchy, he lost fur around his eyes and muzzle, and scratched himself until he bled. After switching to a vegan diet using this food, which my dog is very happy with, he recovered incredibly – his coat is shiny, he gained weight, and he’s full of energy. Highly recommend!
