CarSafe Crash-Tested Car Harness for Dogs

There's an L tag on it, but the length of the chest strap is only 54 cm, not the promised 72 to 86 cm. L is the largest size, so unfortunately this harness isn't suitable for bigger dogs. Even though there's a large dog in the photo.

Very good and sturdy dog harness. We use it for our muscular Labrador-Golden Retriever mix. Whether it’s for car rides or walks, it fits really well and stays in place. I can only recommend it!

I really wanted a crash-tested harness, but unfortunately this one is very stiff – which does make sense if it’s supposed to hold in an accident. So I could have overlooked that. However, it was still visibly uncomfortable for our really small Yorkie to wear. On top of that, even in the smallest size and on the tightest setting, it was still too big, so he kept slipping out of it. I suppose that means the safety aspect is lost as well. So I had to find another safe solution.

The harnesses list maximum measurements that don’t stand a chance of fitting. I chose the size based on the chart. For a female dog with a neck circumference of 36cm and chest of 67cm, size M is definitely too small, even though it should fit in theory. The harness sits oddly at the front and digs into the armpits.

Even though, according to the measurements, it should fit well, it’s actually really tight and there’s hardly any room to adjust it. I really didn’t like that at all. Other than that, it’s definitely safer than the usual basic harnesses.
