I only find the shape okay in terms of space usage, but it works so far—our two bowls for our big dog fit on it, at least. The (ceramic) bowls don’t slide around anymore and the raised edge is great, so any water puddles stay on the mat. The material doesn’t smell, but unfortunately it does attract a bit of dust. Overall, I like it quite a lot and the dog accepts it (which wasn’t the case with another mat we tried).
