Cat Mate C200 Automatic Feeder

I bought this assuming from the pictures it was a timer feeder but it just the replacement bowls for the feeder. Bowls are fine, but pricy though.

My cat was very happy. It's easy to use. But after about 5 months of use, and every day for the last 2 weeks, it stopped working. No way to return or repair it.

The feeder worked two or three times before it packed up. You can still programme it, but nothing happens. That's actually worse than if it wouldn't turn on at all: at first you think it's working, leave the house, and come back – only to wonder why the cats are starving even though they haven't eaten anything. In fact, they couldn't eat anything because the feeder didn't rotate even once, despite being programmed.

Too bad, my cat doesn't want to eat from it. The device makes too much noise, so my cat would rather not eat at all than eat from the automatic feeder.

I’m really glad I bought this feeder. My cat Boris got used to it easily, and the turning noise doesn’t bother him anymore—in fact, he runs over when he hears it because he knows food is coming! 😄 Boriska often eats small amounts, so it was always a problem how to make sure he had fresh food when I’m at work, but this feeder has solved that too. There’s only one thing I’d still like: the extra two ice packs, but I can’t find them anywhere.

I wrote on 12/12 that the replacement bowls didn’t work. Turns out they do, but not as replacements – they’re actually extra bowls that you put into the plastic trays. I find that a bit misleading and confusing – pity there aren’t stainless steel bowls available from the start. The machine is harder to close with the stainless steel bowls, but if you press down on the locking mechanism at the top, it works. The clock can only be set roughly. Still, I’m satisfied, as it’s secure and tamper-proof, which is important here.

Actually pretty good, I've had the thing for 4 months now. Unfortunately, the numbers and lines are coming off. I don't think that's great. Feels like wasted money then.

Pépère, a former stray, rough and greedy – this dispenser has really been put to the test! At first, he would just stare at the lid turning without moving, waiting for it to stop before eating. It took a few days for him to connect the noise with the kibble, but now he’s like a Formula 1 car as soon as he hears the mechanism! Despite his attempts to open it (and it’s not even fixed to the floor), he’s never managed it. I’ve been using it for over a month now to split his meals into 5 portions: 4 with kibble and 1 with wet food. Honestly, I’m delighted!
