Wolf of Wilderness Adult "Blue River" Salmon - Grain-Free - dog dry food

I don't understand how they can call this product fish-based when it only contains 4% fish protein now? It used to be 10%. The composition? Instead of 40% fresh meat, now it's just 25%. The bag isn't resealable, the quality is much worse than before, and even my dog doesn't like it. The price stayed the same, but the quality has dropped. For this price, I can get much better dog food with a higher meat content. I don't get why they have to change something that was good and worked well... Please bring back the old one! From what I see in the comments, others aren't happy with the new food either!!!

The new recipe reduces the protein by almost 50% compared to the old one! Wolf of Wilderness is starting to turn into just another supermarket food, but at an inflated price!

Back then, it was the same price with 50% meat content, now it's barely half as much for the same price.

The new recipe is no longer to my Cane Corso's liking. He used to eat it without even breathing, but now he won't touch it anymore.

I've been buying this product for a few years, and ever since you introduced the new recipe, both my dogs think twice before eating it. If this was the compromise to keep the price down, you picked the wrong recipe! I'm going to have to look for another product.

The 12kg feed is coarser, drier, and doesn’t smell like fish. In the 1kg bags, the feed is smaller, darker, juicier, with a nice fish aroma. I wouldn’t recommend the 12kg feed.

Since 2026, with the new recipe, my dog scratches all over, the new recipe is a disaster. I switched to another food.

I bought this product for 3 years, but the change to the new recipe and the bag without a seal made us switch to another brand. The difference in ingredients is significant. Old formula: 41% fresh chicken + 10% salmon protein + 10% poultry protein + eggs… New formula: 25% fresh chicken + potatoes + 15.4% chicken protein + pea protein + … My dog started scratching more; at first I thought it was for another reason, but after we changed the food, the itching disappeared. Such a shame.

According to the packaging, the food contains "Fresh chicken meat with salmon". This should be clearly stated in the product description, which only mentions salmon.

We’ve been Zooplus customers for many years, first in the UK and now in France. We’ve always been happy with the service, but the recent changes to the dog food recipes have really disappointed us. The quality has dropped significantly: the new recipes contain much less protein than before, which is, for us, an incomprehensible change when it comes to feeding our pets.

The recipe change is borderline customer fraud. For two large dogs (30kg & 50kg), we’ve been ordering Wolf of Wilderness for about €1,200 a year and Knabbeldabbel for another €800. That’s around €2,000 in sales, for about 7 years—starting now, another supplier will be getting that business.

This food is a chicken-based food with just 4% fish content, namely "salmon protein". And yet it's called "Blue River". That's clearly deliberately misleading! This is an own brand from Zooplus, that's just not on, folks!!

New recipe to avoid... not at all the same quality, half as much meat. It would have been better to keep the old recipe and raise the price a bit. So now I'm also looking for another brand. And the resealable bag was also a plus that's now gone.

Since the recipe changed, my dog refuses to eat these kibbles. On top of that, my dog suddenly developed eczema between his paws. After reading several other reviews, I see that more dog owners are experiencing this. Such a shame.

The new recipe has been terrible for Mia. She had already tried the old version and it was great, but with this recipe she's had runny poos from the very start. It hasn't worked and we've had to buy another bag with a different flavour.

I wanted to try switching up the menu with this product, but my dog thinks it’s better to go hungry than eat even a single kibble. He ate it once, then completely refused the food for several days. The bag is still untouched… I won’t be ordering again.

The recipe has changed and my dog doesn’t like it anymore—she won’t eat the kibble now, even though she used to love it. Also, the bag used to be resealable but not anymore, which isn’t practical.

Unfortunately, I read too late that the recipe had changed. My dog had constant flatulence and eventually refused to eat the food. I will never buy it again.
