It’s empty in here!
I tried this cat litter as had enough of the tracking with my other brand. I find this litter much better. There is some tracking but it doesn't go far from the box, unlike the other which went all over the house. It's smells nice clumps we'll and quickly. Easy to use and my cats like it.
I keep my cat litter trays in the bathroom (smells all in the same place!) I scoop this up and straight into the toilet. I change and clean the whole tray fortnightly.
This is a great product and having tried 'Worlds Best Cat Litter' in one tray and this in another - both of our cats much prefer this. My only criticism is that, like a lot of other eco litters, it is lightweight and so can end up on the floor around the tray. The positives outweigh this though - clumps well, flushes well, doesn't seem to smell and the cats are happy using it.
It is great litter. It smells good. The cats are happy with it. I would buy it again except for two things. First, it is dark in colour so it is hard to clean if the litter box is in a dark place. Also the walnut is gritty and if your cat walks litter all over the floor don't walk around in bare feet!
Two 9 month B. Shorthair share a tray. Tried -worlds best cat litter, OkO litter .. this is great for smell and no dust!! It does clump well, those who say not are not putting enough litter in tray. Lasts ages. Flushable. Very pleased. Great price also
This is simply the easiest and best cat litter around. It clumps perfectly and has no smell at all other than a faint walnut smell which is actually really nice. No dust, no faff, no brainier
Fantastic. Does the job brilliantly. I keep my cat tray in the loo, so just chuck it down the loo! Best ever - no smell. Thank you.
Does not smell, clumps quickly, chuck it down the loo. Brilliant. Best ever!
We tried this after searching high and low for a more eco friendly clumping cat litter. World's Best was no good because our elderly cat started eating it as soon as it came out of the bag! Found this on offer and gave it a go. It doesn't smell, doesn't dust, and clumps fine. 2 weeks in and the litter hasn't need to be changed, or even topped up, with 2 cats using it. Doesn't stick to long fur, and doesn't track any more than other litters (it just looks like it does because of the dark colour).
2 x Devon Rex and one tray - Having tried a huge selection including worlds best/ silica/wood pellets/paper pellets this is the best yet. Flushable which is great, easy to clean and lasts AGES if you keep it fresh and change daily. All litters track but this is by far the best I've used. It doesn't stick to their paws, few grains around the tray but not dusty at all. Natural and smells neutral.
Not great when you have two cats sharing a tray. Doesn't clump as well as other litters and tray begins to smell even though it's emptied daily.
After trying so many cat litters i have found this great product
The best litter I have found for minimal tracking with long haired cats. Clumping not the best but good odour control.
I have always had 4/5 cats in my household and can say that of all the cat litters I have used in the past 20 years that this is the best. It smells light and refreshing. It clumps well - not so much that you need strength to get it off the bottom of the tray like some clay ones and the clumps are much lighter. Sift this once a day it will last ages and ages as it is so accurate in separating the contaminated parts. A very important point is that it is flushable so very eco friendly.
Would buy no other. This stuff is the best.
I'm kind of new to the Cat business and tried many different types and I thought it was normal that Cat litter is smelly and just unpleasant to clean how wrong I was,I like Applaws Cat food so decided to give the Cat litter I try, have to say when I opened the first time I was very disappointed it looked like brown mass which with lumps in it, than I tried it,it takes the smells away very fast , it clumps perfectly which means a Bag lasts really for ages and the nicest thing about it's flushable
We have two long-haired cats: a Persian and a Maine Coon. Finding appropriate litter was always a challenge as they kept dragging it everywhere around the house. This litter is very economic - a bag last us over a month and clumps really well comparing to other biodegradable litters. It still drags a small bit outside the litter box but only around it. It also stains a small bit (so keep this in mind if you have a white cat) but still is better than everything we've used before.
My kittens just would not use them, I don't really know why, maybe it smell weird to them cuz to me it smells a bit dump. or it hurt their paw. I love the idea of it tho. I think it such a shame as I tried to get my kitten of out SaniCat littre as I rather use something natural.
After years of using paper based litter I am a convert to this. So easy to clean tray by scooping lumps which have minimal odour as they are encased in litter granules. The tray always looks like its just been filled with new litter. Having a good depth in the tray means that the tray itself doesn't get dirty. A bag will last much longer than my previous litters. You do need to sieve around a bit with the scoop to find the buried lumps. Using a mat minimises tracking.
Honestly the best litter out there, I've tried many. It just doesn't smell, clumps really well (doesn't break into smaller blocks when you collect your cat's presents), my cats love it, it's environmentally friendly, can be flushed in the loos, leaves really no tracks in comparison to Oko cat's best (which I love but the tracking is terrible) GIVE IT A TRY!!
I have a creamy Persian cat. Throughout his 3 years with me I tried the following litters: - Applaws Nature's Calling: My favourite and best of all. Has a pleasant smell, traps odours well (but, have to admit, not so good as Cat's Best Oko Plus), clumps reliably and lasts long (I usually pour half of pack at once, so 2 packs of 6kg last for 1,5-2 months). It does track a bit though, but least of all the litters I've tried and sweeping/hoovering once or twice a week is enough. The only minus is that it colours my cat's creamy paws as it is dark brown. - Cat's Best Oko Plus: It traps odours very well, lasts for long (similar to Applaws) and has no issues with clumping. However, this is probably the worst tracking litter I had. I had to hoover/brush twice a day as little bits stick onto cat's paws and fur and is spread everywhere at home. I didn't even use all pack, switched back to Applaws. - Cat's Best Nature Gold: Tried once. The pellets are really large and this makes clumping not so effective. I bought it because it said that it does not stick to fur and is suitable for long haired cats. Well, those pellets did stick to my cat's fur and tracked a lot. Though it is environmentally friendly and eliminates smells for some time. But loose litter eventually becomes smelly and you have to change it. - Porta Pine Wood: Good cat litter, would rank it 2nd after Applaws. It smells fresh and is literally dust free, leaves no visible marks. It lasts long, great odour control, clumps well and my cat loved it. However, it tracks quite badly, but not as bad as Cat's Best Oko Plus. - Catsan Hygiene: Not good at all. Never bought again. Clumps stay wet for a long time making it difficult to remove from the box, and when they dry they glue to the box so that I had to scratch them off. Controls smell bad, tracks a bit and clumps of wet litter stick to the fur. It is dusty and caused runny eyes and sneezing to my Persian friend. - World's Best (Green and Red): Not good. Advised by vet after using Catsan Hygiene. It is dusty and didn't improve my cat's runny eyes much. It clumps very well, tracks a bit. Though it stinks horribly, probably because loose litter eventually starts smelling. Thus, no odour control. As such I do not remember it lasting long. - Tygerino Crystals Silicate: Used in an emergency when my order was late. Disliked bad smell. It also runs out quickly, one pack lasted for 3 days, tracks a bit.
We have 5 cats who come back in to use their tray! Used Oko Cat's Best for years as very effective and flushable. Tried this. Excellent odour control, clumps well, hardly any tracking and little dust. The previous comments about the colour... Shake the tray before picking out the lumps as this will make them obvious and reduce the liklihood of them breaking up. May appear costly but lasts, with regular scooping, and works out no dearer than the Oko per month and is also flushable.
We've been using this for about 4 months now. Its pretty good at odour control and clumps great. It does track a bit, but every litter we've ever used has tracked, so no big deal. Our female used to sometimes wee outside the box if it wasn't 100% clean, since using this, she hasn't gone outside the box. She also has asthma (that's why we tried this) and she has not had an attack since we bought this. I find its almost dust free and there is no chemical smell on it. They love scratching in it, its become an Olympic sport lately!
We are on day three of trying Nature's Calling so I figured this was a good point for a first impressions review. This litter is being used in a top entry cat litter box (Petmate) so litter tracking is almost non existent, the minimal amount gets caught on the lid! My two little dogs aren't intrested in eating it which was a big concern because they didn't only try and eat litter out the box but would would lick up any of the tracked litter. Icky! When poured there was no cloud of dust which was a issue I'd been having with Oko which was making me cough and my eyes sting. My kitty has no issues using it, he likes a sandy grainy texture that's his only requirement. I find the clumping is okay, middle of the road. Substantially better then Catsan clumping, matches Oko Cat's Best but is no where near the standard of a chick crumb litter. I can't smell the box at all wee/poo/ cat litter scent etc when the lid is on, even after use, I scoop on average twice a day. When cleaning after three days, or when fresh the litter has a odd smell which reminds me of wholemeal bread. In order to achieve optimum clumping I needed to use the whole 6kg bag in the Petmate Top Entry Box. Therefore I'd imagine that I would need two 6kg bags a month for one cat who is raw fed. I am undecided with regards to repurchasing I shall see how me and kitty feel in a couple of weeks.
Took a while for my two cats to get used to this litter, but they're more than happy using it now. Tried The World's Best before that, but both cats refused to use it at all - but it did have a rather pungent smell to that litter! There's hardly a smell to this litter though, and it clumps well although not amazingly, but it's worth it. The best thing about it is that, as it's biodegradable, I can flush it straight down the toilet (the litter trays are located in the bathrooms). It last for ages, as long as you're fairly careful to scoop properly!
Have been using this litter for about 8 months now and it's the best I've come across. Yes, it has a slight odour when it's poured fresh in the tray, but this disappears after a while. Yes, it does track a little, but not much. It clumps well for the pees tho yes, the clumps do come apart a bit but it's no problem to scoop up the little clumps. The best things though are that one tray-full lasts AGES if you are vigilant with removing the pees and poos. I use a large, deep litter tray and I only empty it out completely about once a month for disinfecting before refilling AND I put the old (not soiled) litter on the compost heap as, being from walnut shells, it's compostable. Simples!
this is the best by far. Used loads of different litters and having 8 cats cost of litter is important. This litter lasts that long that it works out cheaper than supermarket brands. Don't be put off by price. Great odour control and the least tracking of them all .
The usual litter we use is Worlds Best however this being considerably cheaper caught my attention so I gave it a go ordering three large bags. Having read other reviews I was surprised at high scores showing complete satisfaction, my findings differ somewhat. I find the litter tracks from the box it clumps, but not all together and breaks off when scooping. My preference remains the overly expensive Worlds Best.
Excellent odour control, amazingly easy to clean due to supurb absorbency and is long lasting! I've 5 cats and I've used 6kgs of this litter in one of my 4litter trays over the past week. Its as good as it was last Saturday - it smells fresh and I've cleared it out every day, so it is being used, and very little evidence of tracking! I am converted and will be moving to this from now on. Zooplus prices are much better than my local store so I'm ordering the economy packs and changing all my litter trays to Natures calling!
I've been trying to find litter which is low dust, clumping and great at odour control. I tried Catsan but wasn't happy - you can smell the litter after 2-3 days so have to constantly change it. Bear in mind I'm very diligent (i.e. it is done immediately) at removing poop and clumped pee so the littler should last a week before a complete change. I love this litter and so does Pepper. The odour control is great, the litter doesn't stick to his paws too much and as he's a little digger, the litter actually stays in the litter tray. Very happy, will continue buying!
So this is great for neutralising odours and the clumps were easy to clean out of the tray. Lasts quite a long time too. The colour is a bit unfortunate as it makes it harder to know what to dig out of the tray and when it tracks it leaves little brown specks everywhere. My flatmate was very grossed out by it so I'm currently on another litter, but when she moves I will definitely consider this one again.
I recently tried this litter as previous reviewers praise its ability to control odour. In common with other comments, I too have found that it tracks a lot and is messy. I've also discovered that urine 'pools' and isn't completely absorbed unless left in the litter tray for some time. The clumps tend to be soggy if a cat has recently used it but neither does it flush away that readily. If clumps are left for a few hours before scooping, they form solid lumps at the base of the toilet pan needing to be broken up for a total flush away. Clumping is not as good as World's Best Multi-cat litter and clumps can break up when soggy whereas World's Best hardly does. However, it has made a huge difference with odour control. I use World's Best Multi-cat litter for all the other trays in the house and bought Applaws Nature's Calling especially for one of my neutered boys who still leaves a strong urine smell, and a spayed female who passes a lot of urine. Nature's Calling has performed very well in keeping down the odours and is considerably better than World's Best for these particular two cats. Scooping out solid waste hasn't been a problem given there is sufficient light to see it. All in all, I can thoroughly recommend Nature's Calling on odour control but advise buyers to try other organic and biodegradable clumping cat litter brands and reach their own conclusions. I shall continue using this litter which, as a bonus, is considerably cheaper than World's Best but it will be limited to one litter tray only. I would actually rate the product as 'Satisfactory to Good'.
Have been using Cat's Best Oko Plus for some time but I am a convert to Nature's Calling. Better odour control and, as long as the cats are using their covered Curver litter tray, I get less litter around house (and where there is tracking, this is better disguised against my darkish carpets). Not so good with open trays. It seems easier to kick everywhere when digging.
I have 3 indoor Maine Coons, so I need a good quality litter that does not track too badly. After a month I am impressed that it does not turn to dust and clumps really well, it does track a little but to be honest there isn't a litter out there that won't.The cats like it and although you have to fish to see the solid bits as it is brown I am so far liking this better than the wheat and wood based litters. This litter is a good price and smell isn't too bad, but with 3 huge cats another miracle is required but I choose to have them and they are cleaner than kids!
This is the best litter for clumping that I have used. I use Cats Best and it is good, it does track but it's light and as it is larger, easier to vacuum. This tracked quite a bit and being such small particles is difficult to actually see but the worst part for me was the amount of dust it created. Sorry love Applaws food and the idea of the litter is brilliant but gone back to Cats Best.
Been using this for just over a month with 6 cats. Tried it because the clay litters we've used recently seem to be very dusty. Aside from the mess I don't think breathing in clay dust is good for us or the cats. We tried wood pellets for 6 months because they're lightweight but don't like the lack of clumping, and the cats weren't happy with the texture underfoot. What we've found: Lightweight 6kg bags - easy to lift. Re-sealable bags with handle for pouring - great idea. Zero dust - even at the bottom of the bag. No sickly smelling chemical odour neutralizers to put the cats off. Good odour control. Clumps urine - not quite as well as clay. Tracks but doesn't weld itself to the floor or the cat when wet. Yes it's the same colour as poop but it's very easy to sift through with a poop scoop. Lasts as long as clay because it clumps. We ran 3 litters with wood pellets alongside 3 litters with Applaws - all six preferred the Applaws from day 1 and shunned the pellets. We found our cats prefer a 3" deep layer so they can dig. Mid-range priced litter, it's definitely worth it. It gives you the best features of both pellets and clay with none of their downsides
This cat litter is the same colour as cat poo! so makes it difficult to see easily where your cat has been! It does track too & its bags are quite heavy. The good thing about this litter is it does clump well. So I wont be using this again as wood based cat litters are lighter & easier to see when your cats have used their tray.
My in-door semi long haired cat is very happy with this litter. Hides smells very well. Clumps brilliantly. There is tracking, but putting a mat in front of the tray helps this. I recommend putting a deep layer in the tray. The only slight problem is as the litter is dark brown, if your cat like mine covers her poo really well it can be like a treasure hunt! But it lasts a very long time so this alone more than makes up for the price. My cat loves Applaws food (the only food she will eat!) & now loves their litter, a real Applaws cat. Highly recommended.
I love this cat litter it clumps fabulously and tracking is minimal compared to golden grey which Ii was previously using. I thought I would try it as I was feed up of having golden grey granules scattered across my bathroom floor when my cat stepped out the tray(where its a sand type litter it spreads easily) and had had enough of having to clean litter out the bath, the bathroom sink and from the top of the loo every morning. Natures calling never goes any further than the door mat I use as a litter tray mat I'm very pleased to say. Sure you don't get as much as you do compared to some other cat litters on sale here but the quality makes up for quantity each and every time.
4 indoor cats, including one cystitis sufferer and one prissy princess.... economy pack lasts just shy of a month. Complete tray change usually driven by appearance before odour, and if it tracks at all - which is usually cat behaviour rather than the litter itself - at least it doesn't resemble a limestone quarry explosion. I mean, World's Best? Pah!!! Of the online retailers I've checked Zooplus has come in cheapest for months now. Only drawback is not being able to subscribe/auto-reorder from Zooplus. Why Zooplus? Why are you making me rely on my failing memory? :-)
Having a Maine coon with a lot of fluff I needed a litter that doesn't stick to fur. I was using the worlds best gold pellets but found theses all round the house as lightweight. I was dubious that a fine litter would get everywhere and yes it does track but not that badly. We don't have any white flooring so doesn't look bad. Clumps brilliantly, easy to clean and lasts for ages and no smells.
We bought this for our two cats after trying a few other biodegradable brands and find it far superior in terms of odour control and clumping. The only negative is that due to it being very dark and dusty, it sticks to paws and turns any white surface brown. We've had to ban our cats from the bathroom since switching to this because they turned our sink and tub brown with their feet. Not ideal, but given the fact that we no longer have any odour coming from the box we happily live with it!
This litter is excellent at holding the smell of a stud boys urine. It clumps very well and a 6kg bag will last 7 weeks for 2 cats before it needed topping up, just transfer the litter to a clean tray every few days, amazed how the litter lasted. Reason for 4 stars is because it does track and is not suitable for pale carpets or pale cats as it does stain the paws of some.
I have found this to be the best and the price is great. It clumps well and flushes fine. There is a nice woody smell to it which hides the cats smell really well. I also tried the World's Best Cat Litter Extra Strength litter, but i found that although it clumped well and flushed too, the smell of the cats pee etc was quite bad even after a only a few minutes. I recommend this litter as a flushable solution
I used to buy Purr & Simple cat litter, which was great ~ I tried Applaws as an alternative and am so far very happy with it. Excellent odour control, and great to know I can add it to my compost. I do not find the 'clumping' action works too well and it does track more than the pellet style of litter, but the price, odour control, and eco-friendliness outweighs the tracking issue. All in all, a very good cat litter! Happy to recommend it.
least tracking of any fine clumping litter I have tried - and I've tried a lot - and I can burn it on the stove in the winter, and in the garden incinerator in the summer, so no more bags of used litter in the household waste
With three indoor Cats this Cat litter ticks all the boxes the best I have ever used
amazing cat litter. I was a staunch Catsan fan but this litter is great. No tacking litter around the house. I have a huge Ragdoll male that loves drinking his water and so a good litter is essential. This litter really does absorb the smells really well. Plus its natural and can be flushed down the toilet, saving a lot of back ache!
This is the only litter that my five year old tonkinese will use. It has been a God send during this wet and miserable winter as previously she would have insisted on going out whatever the weather (or time of day or night). It just makes life so much easier knowing that she will now use the tray if necessary.
Tried many. This is far the best for lack of smell, maximim clumping and little tracking. With a dustpan and litter scoop - it is easy to see "lumps" to take out - but I always rake through again. As the litter box is in my bathroom I tip the dustpan into the loo and rinse pan and scoop in the bidet. Easy-peasy and very clean.
I ordered two bags to start and found it the best clumping litter I've ever tried. Hardly any tracking if you use a tracking mat. Clumps easily and there doesn't seem to be any smell lingering in the tray or even when its just been used. Its cut down on waste too, a lot different to the wood chip that we were using. We have a multi-cat household and thoroughly recommend it.
I saw people raving about this product so thought I would give it a try. It is unusual in appearance due to it's dark earth like colour, unusual smell - but not unpleasant and appears to track slightly less than Öko Plus. It is however really quite dusty, black kitty paws come out brown! and the area around the tray turns brown too! One of my girls is a sensitive little soul and she comes out sneezing every time! Achoo! It does however clump very nicely, absorbs odours and lasts really well. I don't think I will be buying it again due to the dust factor I'm afraid.
I can honestly say that over 40+ years of owning cats I have tried every kind of litter available. I have been using Tigerino (don't like the scent and looks artificial, doesn't clump but lasts well) and World's Best(good but expensive and it does track)but this is by far the best so far. The only slight problem is that because it is so dark it is hard to distinguish the flushable lumps from the compostable clumps of urine. It clumps superbly, however, and it is extremely good at keeping the odours inside the litter instead of the room. It also lasts for ages...I filled our large tray with the complete bag and although we have two house cats it lasted for well over a month with regular raking and removal of the lumps. Because it clumps so effectively no tiny bits are left behind after scooping as can happen with other litters, so it looks as clean after a fortnight as when newly poured, and it smells good too. Highly recommended.
The litter does the job and the price is really good. However, the brown dust make the tracking very visible and can be messy around the litter box. Most reviews seems to say it does not track but in my case it definitely track everywhere although not as bad as some other brand, I am still not sure if I should go back to it yet, the fact it is low price might bring me back to it, but I think I should stick with World's best if I dont want the tracking. I am also uncertain about the smell. it is kind of strong. It does not obsorb cat pee very well, so it does break everytime I am cleaning the litter box. As a result, the litter goes everywhere!
Great litter at a great price I'm a convert! The litter in itself smells nice and earthy and it masks smells better than any other I've used so far. Lasts really well I've used half a bag on two cats and three weeks in still haven't needed to change I will in another week just for my own peace of mind. We were using golden pine before this but this is cheaper and smaller bags so easier to carry. It does track a little but even that seems better than others. Love it!
I have had this litter in the box 2 days and already am converted. It looks a little odd at first if you are used to the grey or white litters as this is more of an earthy coloured product. It is very soft on the paws and this does make it track a little BUT I think it might just because it is so dark that it is more noticeable. The wet does clump into hard lumps that are very easy to remove cleanly and does not go sticky like some litters and the solid waste dries quickly so it is also easy to remove. It doesn't smell and although it is expensive I can tell that the 6KG bag will last a lot longer than the cheap litters so will probably be more economical in the long run.
Totally agree with the previous reviews. This litter keeps bad odours at bay and it barely tracks. 5*s
No odour, no tracking, kind to kitten paws, easy to scoop and put into the toilet. Far superior to silica and lasts longer. Being Brown like earth you have to scoop through the try to find the "lumps" - but even her urine clumps into lumps. Perfect will not now buy any other.
I bought this because it was new and promised less tracking round the house. It's true - the texture of this rather fine, smooth litter means fewer tracks on the floor. The colour is a bit unusual but there is really no odour (even less than with World's Best Extra Strength) and it is extremely efficient, a small bag lasted us two weeks with 2 cats and then it didn't stink or anything - we only had removed too much so there wasn't much left. Will buy again, as this is biodegradable, cheaper than World's Best and much more conveniently packed (we haven't got a lot of storage space and carrying 12kg up to the 2nd floor isn't nice).
I tried this, as I am always looking for an improved litter which tracks less and is kinder on my cats paws. Previously I was using Cats Best Nature Gold. This does track less and is softer underfoot than the larger pellets of the Nature Gold. It is not dust free (despite their claims) but it is not as dusty as Worlds Best, which I tried once and then abandoned due to dusty marks everywhere. It does not go so far and works out more costly than Nature Gold, but my old boy is 18 years now and I think he deserves the best. I will definitely buy this product again.
I bought this stuff at the Supreme to give it a try. Well....what can I say. It's fantastic stuff. No smell, doesn't track and the cats seem to like it too. It clumps so well that there is very little waste and best of all, it's flushable. A big thumbs up from me.
We've been using World's Best for years as we truly do believe it's the best. We saw Nature's Calling being sold at a cat show and were persuaded to try it when we were told it is made by the same people who make World's Best. Since trying it, we won't go back to WB - the odour control is better, it's clumps as well as WB and is about half the price! We were told it tracks less but I wouldn't necessarily agree with that - it shows up more on our light tiled floor but I don't think there's any more of it, it just looks that way, All in all, a great find
