An osmosis system is a quick and easy way to ensure clean water.
Dennerle Osmosis systems not only soften the water, they also remove all impurities such as nitrates, phosphates, chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides and herbicides etc., which can damage the aquarium or encourage algae growth.

The result is soft water with a high level of purity, irrespective of the quality of your local tap water. This clean, pure water is the ideal basis for all fresh and sea water aquariums.

Using an osmosis system creates a better environment for all aquatic creatures. Fresh water fish such as scalare and angel fish prefer soft water but osmosis water can also be beneficial for creatures which are used to harder water. The osmosis water can be enriched with special mineral salts to create water similar to the natural habitat of such tropical fish as Malawi cichlids.
Osmosis systems are essential for salt water aquariums since tap water nearly always contains traces of nitrate, phosphate and KH. Tap water with sea salt has an increased KH value which can create a harmful environment for fish and coral.
An osmosis system creates the ideal neutral basis for a healthy aquarium.

Dennerle systems work on the principle of reverse osmosis. The water mains supply forces the tap water through a special fine pore membrane. Only minute water molecules can pass through the pores. The larger molecules containing harmful substances, hardness elements and salts are filtered out. Even bacteria and viruses are removed. The resulting filtered water is very soft and pure (KH value approx. 0.5-2.0).
Dennerle osmosis systems are fitted with a fine pore filter and a high-efficiency active carbon filter. The standard fine pore filter removes even the smallest floating particles and prevents the osmosis membrane from clogging. The active carbon filter protects the membrane against aggressive chloride.
The precision flow restrictor automatically adjusts and optimises the ratio of osmosis water to residual water (1:4) to maintain optimum membrane performance over a long period of time.
With the aid of osmosis water you can set the water values to match the natural habitat of tropical fish and plants. Osmosis water lets you create the right environment so that even the most sensitive and demanding aquatic creatures will thrive in your aquarium.
