Not good for dried foodI bought one for water (works great once you get the wrist flip mechanism down) and a larger one for dried food as i sometimes am away over night. The food really doesn't seem to work as the "gravity" mechanism doesn't get the food coming out the bottom once the kittens have eaten what's in the bowl. There is a slight slope in the storage bowl end but even so the food doesn't "slide down"

Does what it says on the tin!I bought this for my two kittens and it works great. You have to be quick to flip it over (the first time the water went everywhere!) and I've started filling it with mostly ice cubes to stop the water stagnating which seems to be working well.

Ingenious ProductWorks a charm and the kittens took to it rigt away! Just fill it up while holding it upside down, press the base in to place and then turn it the right way up! Voila!

Clever product!This does exactly what it's supposed to, nice design and doesn't take up much room. I bought it for my persian kittens as they tend to dip their whole face into the water. This is ideal as it only lets out a shallow pool of water at any one time but will provide them with enough water throughout the day! With a little pratice it's easy to fill (turn upside down) without spilling!

Best thing I've ever bought!I love this! It has the advantages of both a bowl and water bottle. It is easy to clean, fill up and does not take up much space at all!

its all about physicsThere IS no opening on the top which, i've discovered, is due to physics & water. A top opening would let air through & the water level in the container would never be higher than the level in the bowl defeating the object of having a feeder of this kind. This does not apply to food. I have the purpose built one for food only which CAN be re-filled from the top. Once the physics is clear it is a simple but sturdy product. The container separates easily from the bowl & its easy to clean.

Good idea, but an extremely poor design've just received two of these today for my cats, one to be a water bowl, the other for the dried biscuits. I'm either being incredibly stupid or it's very poor design, but there is no way to fill these up from the top. The only way they can be filled is by filling them up, putting them in the base upside down and then inverting the whole thing. So far, I've had a full tub of biscuits all over the floor and water everywhere. Not impressed.

Very good.A simple but very effective idea. Great if you have a number of cats living together and especially if they are fed on dry food where they would drink more than if they were on wet food.It also saves space by not needed a large bowl of water.
